superbowl matchup

with the superbowl game a day away, i thought i would give my opinion on how tha highly anticipated superbowl XLII game would turn out... when these two teams last met on tha last week of the NFL regular season, people thought the patriots would hold strong and blow out the giants like they did to almost every other team they played (including my skins =[ ) but the giants showed em up and battled till the last minute resulting in a loss of 35-38. although the giants lost, this game shocked many football fans and told the public that the patriots are not the powerhouse that they seem to be, any team could beat them on a good day.

now 6 weeks later both of these teams, who rightfully deserve their spot, will meet again head 2 head in probably the most outrageous championship game ever. the patriots (16-0) and the giants (10-6) make up probably the worst super-bowl matchups ever because of the difference of record, however with courage and self-motivation i think the giants could win this game.

i predicted this will be a close game at the end with the resulting score of 27-24 giants. before you say this dude is crazy, he has no clue what he's spittin, just hear me out. the patriots are good, but they tend to sleep on teams at times ie. colts, eagles, ravens, and jets which all resulted in scores in tha last minutes causing the patriots to win. so if a team were to keep up with the patriots during the whole game and control the pace of the game they will be able to win, especially with the young talent of the giants against the veterans of the patriots. for the giants to win they will need to hold strong on the defensive front and they will need spectacular catches by their gifted receivers and brandon jacobs and ahmad bradshaw to STEP UP. on offense, the giants may need to keep a fast pace with LONG drives because the patriots veteran defensive players usually switch-up after a coupla plays due to fatigue, so if the giants can do unexpected no-huddles and quick counts i think they could get in tha redzone often. as for giants defense they will need to keep an eye on patriots star wideouts randy moss and wes welker who have a combined 31 TDs this entire season. the giants secondary will be key in either the giants victory or downfall. and the giants pass-rush on defense will absolutely be necessary to contain tom brady! and lastly giants special teams will also need to get their ish done! if the kick return team can get their offense good starting yardage, the giants will be able to get some points, and if the punting team can get nice long punts with great coverage, the patriots could be held to undesirable yardage. if the giants are able to work on both sides of the ball everytime, i think they will be able to keep up with the patriots and somehow pull a victory. i have the giants winnin it all 27-24.

key people:

Patriots:
-Randy Moss (WR) will need to do the usual "moss'n" for the patriots to get their points on tha board
-Wes Welker (WR) known as the secondary receiver will have to get the yards after the catch to help tha offense
-Asante Samuel (CB) has 6 interceptions this season, he is a pick-machine!
-Entire Line of LB's have dominated the rush and pass defense this season, but they are old and almost get tired
-Bill Belichick has a knack for shutting down the opposing teams number 1 receiver and has done it against every team they have played in their post-season

X-Factor: Laurence Maroney because if he is able to run the ball effectively then the patriots have another option to go to if the pass-offense doesnt go smoothly and averages 100+ yds of rushing in the last 5 games with a touchdown in each

Giants:
-Eli Manning (QB) is a young successful quarterback, but he must keep his composure in his first super bowl appearance for his team's sake
-Plaxico Burress (WR) has been talkin trash all week, theres no better time than now to prove it
-Defensive Line with players such as Michael Strahan, Osi Umenyiora and Justin Tuck will need to get the pass-rush on tom brady to get him out of the pocket where he is so relaxed in.
-Antonio Pierce (LB)will have to have to maintain good coverage and pass-rush to prevent long patriot drives

X-Factor: Giants DB's will need to think smart playing against the likes of Randy Moss, Wes Welker and Donte Stallworth, and look out for the play-actions!

so think whatchu need to think about the game, im watchin it at a die-hard patriot family base so i have to root for the giants!!
